Growing like a Tree

We may comment on how a tree is growing, but rarely do we call them “old.”  Or if we do, it is with a sense of awe and wonder. Why then does our culture so readily apply that word—old—to people, and often with a negative connotation, when it could instead call us growing? Here we explore what it means to continue to grow as we age.
